What is this fear of nonexistence
that churns the stomach
and grips the intestines with vise-like power
the sweat flooding the pores?
Perhaps it is the Valley of 5 Seconds
the clarity of understanding
blanked by realization
a union of senses and thoughts
filling the void between dimming light and forever darkness
until the eyes roll back…
